about me
I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student at EPFL, Switzerland, lucky to be advised by Pavan Ramdya and Auke Ijspeert.
My research interests broadly lie at the interface of neuroethology and artificial intelligence. I primarily focus on understanding the underlying mechanisms of goal-directed limb movements in Drosophila melanogaster using behavior and computational models.
My long-term goal is to gain a holistic understanding of motor coordination in flies with the hope of inspiring the development of bioinspired robotic controllers.
Prior to joining EPFL, I received my B.Sc. Degrees in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mathematics from Boğaziçi University, Turkey where I worked on robot localization at Işıl Bozma's Intelligent Systems Laboratory.
During my undergraduate studies, I was an exchange student at Queen's University, Canada, working with Keyvan Hashtrudi-Zaad on haptic systems.
I also spent a summer as an undergraduate research intern at Engin Erzin's Multimedia, Vision, and Graphics Laboratory at Koç University, Turkey, working on emotion recognition.
